UPSC CSE Preliminary Exam 2024 Result Likely To Be Announced This Week; Cut-Off And Other Details

The UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination 2024 result is expected to be announced in the last week of June. The Civil Services Examination Prelims was conducted by the UPSC on June 16, this year. The exam was earlier expected to be conducted on May 26 but was postponed later due to Lok Sabha elections.  Once the result is announced, candidates can check their results on the UPSC official website – upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC CSE qualifies candidates to join various administrative services at the central government. The exam was held in two shifts, with the first shift on GS Paper 1 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and shift two on GS Paper 2 (CSAT) from 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Both papers comprised 100 and 80 MCQs respectively, each carrying 200 marks. There is a negative marking and 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The candidate’s roll numbers, names, and results will be listed in the file released by the UPSC. Candidates must check the UPSC official website regularly to get the latest updates.

Last year the UPSC prelims cut-off was 75.41 for the general category, 68.02 for EWS, and 74.75 for OBC candidates. The cut-off is generally released by the commission after the final result is announced.

Candidates who clear the UPSC CSE Preliminary examination appear for the next round of examination which is the written test and interview round.

Step 1: Go to the official website – upsc.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the UPSC CSE Preliminary Result 2024 link on the homepage

Step 3: Download and save the pdf file listing the candidates qualified for the Mains exam

Step 4: Candidates whose names and roll numbers appear in the list are considered qualified for the next round of the examination.
