A six-year Kerala girl, kidnapped by a car-borne gang, has been found abandoned in Kollam. Kerala police, who were in search of her, found the girl wandering at Asaram Maidan in Kollam after a prolonged search lasting 20 hours.

However, they have not been able to trace the perpetrators so far, despite checking numerous CCTV visuals and vehicles.

The girl was returning from a tuition center to her home while she was kidnapped by a car-borne gang. Minutes after the incident, her parents received a call from gangsters demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh in order to make her safe.

The police later found that the gang members used a trader’s phone to make the call to the child’s parents. The trader is a resident of Parippally in Kollam.

Fretted, the parents called the police, and as soon as the case was registered, the chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, ordered a statewide investigation. The chief minister also urged the people not to circulate incorrect information regarding the incident.
