Kerala Government Announces 'Imbichi Bava Housing Scheme 2024': Details

The Kerala government announced ‘Imbichi Bawa Housing Rehabilitation Scheme’ for Minority Women  for the year 2024-25.  The Minority Welfare Department provides financial assistance under the “Imbichi Bava Housing Rehabilitation Scheme” to widows/divorced/abandoned women belonging to Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi and Jain religious minorities.

An amount of 50,000 will be allocated to the deserving applicants for house renovation. This funding is provided to improve the infrastructure of houses without proper windows/doors/roofs/flooring/finishing/plumbing/sanitation/electrification. The maximum area of ​​the house in the applicant’s own/spouse’s name should not exceed 1200 sq. ft. Applicant must be the sole breadwinner in the family and be preferred to the BPL card member.

Widows with children receiving regular income in Govt/Semi Govt Institutions who have received housing assistance from Govt or similar agencies within 10 years before are not advised to reapply for the scheme.  The scheme is intended to give preference to applicants who have physically and mentally challenged children or with only girl children. The application should be made through the application form specially prepared by the department. The application form is available from www.minoritywelfare.kerala.gov.in website.

The completed application along with supporting documents can be submitted directly to the Minority Welfare Section of the respective District Collectorate or by post to the respective District Collectorate at the address of the Deputy Collector (General) District Minority Welfare Section, District Collectorate and deserving candidates are advised to submit applications before 31st July 2024.

The Imbichi Bava scheme was launched by the government of Kerala on 30th June 2017 by the Minorities Welfare Department. Over 1200 women of Kerala State can benefit from this housing scheme every year. A budget of RS 50 crore is passed annually by the government for the scheme.
