The eighth edition of the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) is all set to begin tomorrow, January 23, 2025, on the picturesque beaches of Kozhikode, India’s first-ever UNESCO City of Literature.
This four-day literary extravaganza promises to be a melting pot of ideas, cultures and creativity, featuring a diverse lineup of speakers, performers, and artists from around the world.
Organised by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-promoted by DC Books, KLF has grown to become the largest literary event in the country, attracting over half a million attendees annually.
This year’s festival will showcase a wide range of programs, including literary sessions, music and dance performances, theatre productions, and art exhibitions.

The festival will feature an array of speakers, including Nobel laureates, Booker Prize winners, Oscar winners, celebrities, acclaimed authors, and thought leaders.
Some of the big names include Venki Ramakrishnan, winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry; Esther Duflo, Nobel Prize winner in Economics; Paul Lynch, winner of the 2023 Booker Prize; and Michael Hofmann, International Booker Prize-winning author, critic, and translator.
The festival will also celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kerala, with a special focus on the state’s vibrant traditions of music, dance, and theatre. The event will feature renowned artists, including Naseeruddin Shah, Prakash Raj, Mani Ratnam, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Murali Gopi among others.
