'Living As RSS Member 'Biggest Mistake': Kerala Man Ends Life Alleging Ticket Denial
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: An RSS worker, Anand K Thampi, committed suicide by hanging at his home on Saturday evening at around 5.20 in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram. The man in the suicide note he shared with his friends through WhatsApp alleged that the BJP leadership did not consider him for the upcoming local body elections in the state.
He alleged that the key BJP-RSS leaders of the area are part of a soil mafia, including the current BJP candidate of the Thrikkannapuram ward, Vinod Kumar, area secretary Udayakumar, constituency committee member Krishnakumar, and Nagar Karyavahak Rajesh.

The former BJP member, Anand pointed out that he wanted to contest from the Thrikkannapuram ward of the Thiruvananthapuram corporation. When the party denied him a ticket, Anand decided to contest as an independent candidate from the same ward, following which he had to face mental stress from BJP and RSS leaders, which allegedly went beyond his limits.
The man further lamented that the biggest mistake he committed in his life was living as an RSS worker. “The identity of an RSS worker, which was there till just before my death, is also the reason why I reached the state to commit suicide,” he noted.
After discovering that his name was not included on the BJP’s Thiruvananthapuram candidate list, Anand became upset. Anand then declared that he intended to end his life on Saturday afternoon through WhatsApp. He was found hanging in a shed on his residential premises later in the evening.
Local BJP leaders denied the allegations in the suicide note, claiming that the man never approached them seeking a ticket, and his death should not be linked to the denial of a ticket.
Notably, last month, another youth, Ananthu Aji, a 26-year-old software engineer from Kerala, died by suicide in a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram. His pre-scheduled Instagram post and video released after his death alleged that years of sexual and physical abuse by members of the RSS from his childhood led to his severe mental distress, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. In the video, he regretted being part of the group, and alleged that it is one of the most venomous outfits.
