Amar Singh of the India alliance has successfully retained his seat in the Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, emerging victorious in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Singh secured a total of 332,591 votes, achieving a decisive victory with a margin of 34,202 votes over his closest competitor.
This triumph highlights the continued confidence of the electorate in Amar Singh, a seasoned politician and current Member of Parliament, who has been instrumental in representing the interests of the Fatehgarh Sahib constituency in Punjab.
Singh faced formidable opponents in this election, including Gurpreet Singh Banawali of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Gejja Ram Valmiki of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Despite the competition, Singh managed to get a margin of more than 30000 votes against the opponents.
The Fatehgarh Sahib constituency, reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), consists of the entire Fatehgarh Sahib district, along with parts of Ludhiana and Sangrur districts. It comprises nine Assembly segments: Bassipathana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Khanna, Samrala, Sahnewal, Payal, Raikot, and Amargarh.
Amar Singh’s victory marks a continuation of his successful tenure, following his previous win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections where he secured a substantial margin of 93,898 votes.
