Allegation and counter-allegations have become a norm during political rallies to target their rivals. Known to be a brilliant orator and a star campaigner for the party, Priyanka Gandhi has never shied away from taking on opposition parties and their leaders. During the campaigning for her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi attacked AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi by calling him a BJP ally. She targeted him by reiterating his alleged support for the BJP by backing the candidates to push away other parties. As per Ms Gandhi, the pattern of Owaisi has become very evident in Telangana.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is campaigning in Rai Barelli for Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party has been elected from the constituency which had a deep connection with the Gandhi family since 1952.

Ms Gandhi said “…I am telling you again and again. Asaduddin Owaisi is working directly with the BJP. Wherever the BJP needs him to field someone to push back other parties, he is doing it. It has become very clear in Telangana elections.”

Notably earlier Congress leader Mohammed Feroz Khan hinted at an alliance between the Congress and Assaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Telangana to defeat the BRS in the Lok Sabha elections. However, later, the AIMIM president cleared that there is no alliance of his party with any other party.

The AIMIM chief extended his party support to the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu in the elections after the party refused to ally with the BJP. Owaisi had also said on ‘X’ that the alliance will also continue for the assembly elections.
