Narayan Tatu Rane, BJP candidate from Ratnagiri- Sindhudurg Lok Sabha Constituency has won by garnering 448,514 votes. He has won with a vote margin of 32,771 votes. He has defeated Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Vinayak Raut in the election.
BJP has fielded union minister Narayan Rane as the party candidate from the constituency. Rane began his political career with Shiv Sainik. He has served as the revenue minister in 1999. Rane after creating his own political outfit known as Maharashtra Swabhiman Party, which later was merged with BJP when he joined the party in 2017. In July 2021, he was appointed as the union minister.
Vinayak Raut, the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate is the member of parliament representing the constituency. He was previously elected as the member of the legislative assembly from Vile Parle of Mumbai. He has been the MP from the constituency since 2014 election.
In the 2009 election, Rane from the Congress party has emerged victorious from the seat. However later in 2014 election, Vinayak Raut from the Shiv Sena party secure victory. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Vinayak won by garnering 493,088 votes. While Nilesh from Congress came second with 343,037 votes.
In the 2019 election, Vinayak once again won the seat by securing 458,022 votes. While Nilesh Rane representing MVP came second with 279,700 votes and Navinchandra from Congress received 63,299 votes.
The trend shows that the Maha Vikas Agadhi has toppled the exit poll results and is leading in the state sweeping majority of the seats.
