Chahar had won the 2019 election with a massive margin of around 5 lakh votes. Chahar is the national president of BJP’s Kisan Morcha.

Ramnath Singh Sikarwar, the Congress candidate is an ex-soldier. The 53-year-old retired army man marked his debut in electoral politics in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In 2014, BJP candidate Babulal won with 426589 votes while BSP’s Seema Upadhay bagged 253483 votes. Surprisingly in 2019, BJP candidate Rajkumar Chahar reclaimed the seat securing victory with an enormous 6.6 lakh votes and a victory margin of nearly five lakh votes while Raj Babbar, Congress candidate, got 172082 votes.
