BJP retained Fatehpur Sikri as its sitting MP Rajkumar Chahar emerged victorious with 445657 votes with a margin of 43405 votes.

BJP’s Rajkumar Chahar Retains Fatehpur Sikri

BJP retained Fatehpur Sikri as its sitting MP Rajkumar Chahar emerged victorious with 445657 votes with a margin of 43405 votes. Chahar’s victory margin, in comparison with the previous term, has narrowed down. His nearest rival Ramnath Singh Sikarwar of congress secured 402252. BSP’s Ramnivas Sharma garnered 120539 votes and finished third.

Chahar had won the 2019 election with a massive margin of around 5 lakh votes. Chahar is the national president of BJP’s Kisan Morcha.

Ramnath Singh Sikarwar, the Congress candidate is an ex-soldier. The 53-year-old retired army man marked his debut in electoral politics in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Fatehpur Sikri is a stronghold of BJP. Apart from the first election after its formation in 2009, the Fatehpur Sikri Lok Sabha seat has been held by BJP.

In 2014, BJP candidate Babulal won with 426589 votes while BSP’s Seema Upadhay bagged 253483 votes. Surprisingly in 2019, BJP candidate Rajkumar Chahar reclaimed the seat securing victory with an enormous 6.6 lakh votes and a victory margin of nearly five lakh votes while Raj Babbar, Congress candidate, got 172082 votes.
