Congress on Thursday released the candidate list for Haryana for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Deepender Singh Hooda has been fielded from Rohtak while another senior leader Kumari Selja will contest from Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency.

This list has 8 candidates in total. Haryana has 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Here is the complete list released today:

Ambala – SC Varun Choudhary
Sirsa – SC Kumari Selja
Hisar – Jai Prakash
Karnal – Divyanshu Budhiraja
Sonipat – Satpal Brahmachari
Rohtak – Deepender Singh Hooda
Bhiwani-Mahendragarh – Rao Dan Singh
Faridabad – Mahendra Pratap

Out of the total 10 Haryana seats, Congress will be contesting in 9 and one seat (Kurukshetra) has been allotted to its INDIA alliance partner AAP. Arvind Kejriwal”s party has fielded Sushil Gupta against Congress turncoat Naveen Jindal of BJP in Kurukshetra.

Currently, only one seat is left out from Haryana for Congress to announce its candidate, which is Gurgaon. Actor-politician Raj Babbar”s name is doing the rounds for candidacy, however, some Haryana Congress leaders have already expressed their discomfort in the proposal.

The discontent has gone public with former minister and 2019 Gurgaon Congress candidate Captain Ajay Singh Yadav on Wednesday became vocal against film actor Raj Babbar.

In an interview given to a Delhi-based news channel, Captain Yadav has reportedly asked: “If the ticket has to be given to an actor, then why can”t it be given to Ranbir or Hrithik or Kareena?”.

Former Congress man and three time MP Rao Inderjit Singh has been fielded in Gurgaon by BJP. He has won the seat twice on a BJP ticket and once on a Congress ticket.
