Does BJP Need Dilip Ghosh To Sail Its Ship In Bardhman-Durgapur Against TMC's And CPI (M)?

Since 2009, after its establishment, Bardhaman – Durgapur constituency has sent CPI (M), Trinamool Congress (TMC), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representatives to Lok Sabha in three earlier polls.

This time the fight in the Bardhman – Durgapur is going to be tough between BJP and TMC as in the last elections the BJP candidate S. S. Ahluwalia defeated TMC candidate Dr. Mamtaz Sanghmita with a small margin of 0.17% (3000 votes). If Ghosh wins, the BJP will make a breakthrough by electing twice from the constituency. CPI (M) has fielded Sukriti Ghoshal from Bardhman – Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency.

Dilip Ghosh, the former state BJP president and the BJP MP from Medinipur in West Bengal helped in establishing the national party”s foothold in the state. Dilip Ghosh the former RSS aide who had been associated with the organization for over three decades is said to have helped the BJP strengthen its position in the state.

Dilip Ghosh who had earlier represented the Medinipur Lok Sabha seat relinquished his state president post by himself. Known for being vocal against the opposition parties, Ghosh himself could not figure out the reason for getting fielded against TMC Kriti Azad in Bardhman Durgapur. Dilip Ghosh claims to have a cabinet minister seat from the state after getting 18 representatives from West Bengal. However, he admits BJP”s consideration of other factors also to get the MP”s nomination to the cabinet.

Dilip Ghosh was loaned from RSS to improve BJP”s position in the state while JP Nadda asserted that the BJP is now stable enough to run its own ship and does not need to loan people from affiliates. However, Ghosh claims to crake the code to defeat Mamata in West Bengal.

Dilip Ghosh has remained in news for the controversial marks made against Mamata Banerjee. Election commission has warnerd him earlier and his party also censored him for the controversis. Recently, Ghosh remarked for Mamata to reach to a begger’s state and accused her to sell jobs to earn money. He said that Prime Minister holds fair to create jobs while Mamata Banerjee takes money to sell jobs.
