Gujarat: Miteshbhai Patel, BJP Candidate From Anand Constituency

BJP has fielded Mitesh Ramabhai Patel as its candidate in the Anand constituency. Mitesh Patel is one of the prominent sitting MLAs of Gujarat. He is included in the first list of the BJP candidates.

The first announced list of the party consists of 195 names. In the 2019 general elections, Mitesh won the Anand seat with a remarkable victory. He secured 1,97,718 votes from the constituency. The notable part of his win is that he became the MP by defeating Bharatbhai Solanki of Congress, who served as the Minister of State under the UPA II government. Bharatbhai is the son of the heavyweight leader, former chief minister of Gujarat MadhavSinh Solanki. Madhavsinha also served as the minister of external affairs in the Narasimha Rao government.

Born in 1965, Mitesh Patel also known as ‘Bakabhai’ completed his Diploma in Telecom Engineering under the Board of Technical Examination, Karnataka.

Mitesh holds several positions including Committee member, Ministry of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Consultative Committee Member, Ministry of Coal and Mines. He is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Laxmi Protein Pvt. Ltd.

Mitesh has been an active member of the saffron party since the beginning of his political career. He has worked at the ground level in his motive to strengthen the party.

“Sewa hi Samarpan” – title which was taken up by the national leadership was coined by the BJP leader. After being elected from the Anand constituency, he built Water Harvesting Plants in several Government schools. His welfare scheme during the Covid 19 was recognized by the World Book of Records, London, and was awarded with the Certificate of Commitment.
