Mumbai: With Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra concluded in Maharashtra, the opposition INDIA bloc has scheduled a massive rally at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Sunday. Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad has confirmed that many major leaders will take part in the rally.
Expecting the rally to be a historic one, the Congress leader said that the chief ministers of the INDIA bloc will also take part in the rally. The rally is expected to provide a platform for the national opposition to launch a frontal attack on the ruling BJP. The following leaders are expected to be part of the rally, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, CPI-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattarchaya, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren.
AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge too will attend the rally. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said that they have extended an invitation to Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) leader Prakash Ambedkar.
The rally will begin at 5:30 pm. Officially the rally will mark the culmination of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yathra. This will be held against the backdrop of the severe setback the BJP has faced from the Supreme Court ruling on the electoral bonds issue and CAA implementation. And this has resulted in massive controversy with even the foreign government slamming the move.
A mammoth crowd is expected to be pulled in the backdrop of the large statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Efforts are made to bring in Dalit and Muslim voters in huge numbers.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has concluded 63-year-old Bharat Jodo Nyay Yathra here by paying tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar at his memorial Chaityabhoomi and reading the preamble of the Constitution. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
