Is PM Modi's NDA Receiving Rejection From Uttar Pradesh?

As decisive electoral battle results in Uttar Pradesh is unfolding, the initial trends shows surprising turns. The reports indicate that the saffron bastion has been shaken by INDIA bloc.

Currently (9.45 AM), reports in four regions – Western Uttar Pradesh, Central Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bundelkhand are as follows:

Western UP:

NDA: 11
INDIA: 15

Central UP:

NDA: 8
INDIA: 7

Eastern UP:

NDA: 14
INDIA: 19

Bundelkhand:

NDA: 2
INDIA: 2

It is reflecting that BJP is getting tough fight from the opposition front. Even Prime Minister Modi’s is struggling to maintain his lead in fight with Congress candidate Ajay Rai. At the moment, Smriti Irani, incumbent MP and Union Minister, is trailing in Amethi, where Congress KL Sharma is leading.

Major INDIA bloc candidates , Rahul Gandhi (Congress) is leading in Rae Bareli, and Akhilesh Yadav is leading in Kannauj.

For the time being, the voting percentage of major parties are as follows: BJP – 43%; SP-31.2%; BSP-9.2%; and Congress-11.1%.

In the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, the BJP contested in majority of the seats, the INDIA bloc partners – SP contested in 63 seats,  and Congress in 17.

In 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP secured 62 seats (64 seats by the NDA), while the BSP secured 9, the SP 5 and Congress 1.
