Uttar Pradesh is politically an important part of the Hindi heartland. As the Lok Sabha election results are declaring today, 80 Lok Sabha constituencies will be decisive for the key political players in the country. In the election, as the BJP contested in majority of the seats, the INDIA bloc partners – SP contested in 63 seats,  and Congress in 17.

From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Rahul Gandhi, high-profile candidates are in the fray. As the total seven phases of the Lok Sabha election are completed, Uttar Pradesh recorded 56.92% voter turnout.

In 2019, the BJP secured 62 seats (64 seats by the NDA), while the BSP secured 9, the SP 5 and Congress 1.

June 4,  2024: 1.32 PM: Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) candidate  Chandrashekhar Azad is leading from the Nagina seat with a margin of 93,898votes.
