As all the exit polls (exit poll is a survey conducted immediately after voters leave polling stations) predicted a big win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA alliance, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate dismissed the predictions. In a video bite given to news agency ANI, the Congress social media in-charge said, “These are Narendra Modi’s exit polls. The exit poll from the public gives 295 seats to INDIA, and this number will only increase.”
Earlier, the Congress party had decided to boycott the exit poll debates on TV stations, however, in a retraction, the party announced that the INDIA alliance has decided to participate in these discussions to expose the prefixed exit polls.
“INDIA parties met and decided to expose the BJP and its ecosystem on the prefixed exit polls. After considering factors for and against participating in the exit polls, it has been decided by consensus that all the INDIA parties will participate in the exit poll debates on television this evening,” Congress leader Khera wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
As per four exit polls released today evening, NDA will get over 350 seats, while the Congress-led INDIA bloc will get 125-150 seats.
Based on the exit polls results coming out, the BJP is also expected to win more than 21 seats in West Bengal, improving its 2019 tally. The BJP is expected to sweep Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh, winning all the Lok Sabha seats.
