Sarbananda Sonowal is leading in Assam’s Dibrugarh constituency, where he is ahead by more than 84,601 votes. The triangular battle between the parties BJP, Congress, and AJP with the candidates Sarbarnanda Sonowal, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, and Manoj Dhanowar respectively, is likely witnessing the victory of Sarbarnanda Sonowal of BJP.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi of AJP trailing in the second place having secured 63763 votes in the Dibrugarh constituency of Assam.
Sarbarnanda Sonowal is the union Minister of Port, Shipping and Waterways of Assam and former chief minister of Assam.
Followed by Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the co-founder and the president of Assam Jatiya Parishad. Diving deep into politics, he stepped into the electoral fray for the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from Duliajan Constituency.
After elected the Indian National Congress for decades, Dibrugarh politics found a turn in the 2004 Lok Sabha election when AGP made its entry through Sarbananda Sonowal’s victory against the congress. Later in the 2009 election, Congress retrieved its seat through the victory of INC candidate Paban Singh Ghatowar. The 2014 election marked the entry of the BJP in Dibrugarh, as the candidate Rameshwar Teli won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
