The political battle between Gaurav Gogoi vs Topon Gogoi in the Jorhat Constituency of Assam has built a thrill as Gaurav Gogoi, the youth face of Congress, is leading through securing 91684 votes and pushing behind Topon Gogoi of BJP in the second place, who has secured 74920 votes.
The Jorhat constituency has already marked its significance and grabbed the attention as it had witnessed the major shift of Gaurav Gogoi of Congress from his traditional constitution Kaliabor and declared a political battle between Congress and Topon Gogoi of BJP.
As the results got its progress, Gaurav Gogoi is expected to win the election as he is leading with 91684 votes and to set his mark in the Jorhat constituency, where BJP had rooted through its victory in the past two Lok Sabha elections.
Looking into the Jorhat constituency after being ruled by the Indian National Congress for a decade, the political ground of Jorhat marked the entry of the BJP through the Victory of Kmakya Prasad Tasa in the 2014 election, followed by the 2019 election had rooted BJP in the constituency through the victory of Topon Kumar Gogoi.
It is to be noted that, Gaurav Gogoi was forced to move to Jorhat from his traditional seat of Kaliabor after it ceased to exist and a new constituency Kaziranga was created after the delimitation exercise in August last year.
