The Victory Of An Independent Candidate: All you Need To Know About Faridkot’s’ Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa has emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha Election 2024, for the Faridkot constituency, securing 298,062 votes and winning by a margin of 70,053 votes. Running as an independent candidate, Khalsa garnered 29.38% of the total vote share, defeating Punjabi actor Karamjeet Anmol of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Faridkot, one of Punjab’s 13 parliamentary constituencies, is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and encompasses parts of Bathinda and Muktsar districts, as well as the entire Faridkot and Moga districts.

The constituency is divided into nine Assembly segments: Nihalsinghwala, Baghapurana, Moga, Dharamkot, Gidderbaha, Faridkot, Kotkapura, Jaitu, and Rampuraphul. In the 2019 Parliament Election, Faridkot had a total of 1,535,716 registered voters.

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, a seasoned independent politician from Punjab, has a history of electoral participation, having contested various elections over the years.

Despite previous unsuccessful attempts in the Lok Sabha elections from Bathinda in 2004 and 2014 and the Punjab Assembly election from Bhadaur in 2007, Khalsa’s perseverance paid off in 2024. His victory in Faridkot is a testament to his optimism and connection with the electorate and people in Punjab.
