Accusing the BJP government of sidelining the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) in job recruitments, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge today said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a double attack on reservation.

Asserting that the BJP has ripped apart the constitution, the Congress leader, in a post on X, said that the Modi government today issued an advertisement to fill at least 45 posts of Joint Secretary, Directors, and Deputy Secretary at the Center through Lateral Entry and asked, “Is there a reservation for SC, ST, OBC, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in this?”

Terming it “a part of a well-planned conspiracy,” the Congress chief alleged the BJP is deliberately making recruitments in a manner so that it can keep away the SC, ST, and OBC from reservation.

Pointing out today’s Allahabad High Court’s order canceling the appointment of 69,000 assistant teachers following allegations of non-availability of reservation benefits, Kharge said the reservation scam in the appointment of the assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh has now been exposed by the High Court decision.

“In March 2024, Shri Rahul Gandhi raised the voice of the deprived candidates by writing a letter to the Prime Minister in the reservation scam of Dalit and backward classes. The Yogi government had filled these posts by doing injustice to the candidates, in which the constitutional right of reservation of Dalits and backward classes was snatched from them,” the Congress chief reminded.
