Filling Up Of Existing Vacancies In Mission Mode: Centre

In response to the unstarred question asked by the Congress National President and veteran leader Mallikarjun Kharge about the filling up of vacancies in different departments and ministries, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the minister of state has tabled the answer in the Rajya Sabha today.

The Congress leader asked whether it is a fact that PM Modi has directed all ministries and departments to fill the existing vacancies in a mission mode manner. Additionally, Kharge asked for the details of the filling up of any existing vacancies against the current sanctioned posts. The question also mentions providing the reason behind not filling up the posts.

The minister said in the reply that as per the direction of PM Modi, all ministries and departments are working towards filling up the existing vacancies against the sanctioned posts in Mission Mode. This is a significant step to fulfill the commitment of PM Modi to provide job opportunities for the youth and to ensure the welfare of the citizens.

The tabled response also mentioned the mode and method of recruitment by the central government. It said, “Vacant posts have been filled up in mission mode, in Rozgar Mela launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22nd October 2022. The Recruitment in mission mode is taking place across the Ministries/Departments/Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs)/Autonomous Bodies/Education and Health Institutions etc, either directly or through the specified Recruitment Agencies”.

Difference between Starred and Unstarred Questions 

In Parliament, the starred questions are distinguished by an asterisk that require an oral answer from the government, while the unstarred question require a written answer.

Starred questions receive an oral answers and can be followed up by the supplementary questions.

In the Unstarred questions, a written answer has to be given and the government needs 15 days to provide the written response. This is not followed by supplementary questions.
