IAS Reservation Fraud In UPSC CSE 2025: Astha Jain Gets Rank 9 Under EWS; Was Selected As IPS In UR Category
The reservation has become a pawn in the hands of those who have resources, and the real benefit does not seem to be reaching those deserving candidates. Another blatant misuse of reservation is observed this year by a UPSC CSE 2025 topper, Astha Jain, who secured All India Rank 9 under the Economically Weaker Section Category.
Astha Jain reportedly secured AIR 186 last year and became an IPS officer under the General Category; however, now, even after becoming an IPS, she has come under the EWS category. The misuse of the reservation certificates, which are easily obtained, is raising questions over the candidature of selected officers.
Astha Jain, who hails from Shamli, UP, has obtained her education from Scottish International School. This was her third attempt at UPSC.
The misuse of certification has not been controlled, even after a high-profile and highlighted case of Puja Khedkar, the IAS trainee officer, who misused power and money to obtain false certificates of being a physically disabled person despite being fit.
