The Olympics had become a “stadium of perseverance”. In the gymnastic all-rounder event, the stage shone brighter with three women fighters, who were also heroes in their personal life. Simone Biles, the gold medal winner has been struggling with her mental health issues. She came a long way after the Tokyo Olympics disaster as she could not satisfy herself with her performance.

She said she is “Super proud of my performance tonight, couldn’t be prouder”, as quoted by ABC news. This is her second Olympic gold medal in the 2024 Paris Games.

The silver medallist, Rebecca Andrade won fought with not one, but three anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), but brought Brazil a silver medal. She suffered from the tear in 2015, 2017, and 2019. She had won silver medal in the individual all-around and gold in the vault. Now, she has become the female Brazilian athlete with the most Olympic medals in history.

The bronze medallist, Suni Lee, who is fighting with an incurable kidney disease, won the bronze medal. Speaking to TODAY’s Hoda Kotb, Lee said “it feels absolutely insane”. “There were so many times where I thought about quitting and just giving up because I was so sick, and it was just so hard to stay motivated, watching everybody get better, and I’m just like I can’t even get back into the gym and constantly doubting myself,” the 21-year-old recalled.
