Congress’ Vishwajeet Kadam Leading Palus – Kadegaon, a Congress bastion, has again given lead to Vishwajeet Kadam. In a constituency, which has either elected independents or Congress candidates from its formation, Kadam, who is representing the constituency for the last two terms, is leading with a small majority of 915 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sangram Sampatrao Deshmukh is training in the second place. Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi’s Jivan Kisan Karkate is on the third place as of the data provided by the Election Commission of India.
Currently, the BJP-led Mahayuti has a massive lead of more than 200 seats in the 288 member assembly. Responding to this, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut said: “Mahayuti won with Adani’s help. Adani is ‘Ladli Bhai’ of BJP. This is not people’s mandate.”

The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Maharashtra is taking place today, November 23. The 288 assembly seats in the State went to polls in a single phase on November 20 and 66.05% voter turnout was recorded.
The major players in the election are: the ruling Mahayuti consists of the BJP, the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led breakaway faction of the Shiv Sena, and the deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP); the opposition comprise the INDIA bloc’s MVA or the Maha Vikas Aghadi, including the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), or SS (UBT) led by former CM Uddhav Thackeray, the NCP (SP) faction lead by Sharad Pawar and the Congress.
