South Africa continued on their unbeaten run to defeat the West Indies in a rain-curtailed T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Group 2 match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Monday. By virtue of the victory, South Africa extended their unbeaten run to seven matches and qualified for the semi-finals.

Chasing a reduced target of 123 runs, the Proteas chased down the target in 16.1 overs with Marco Jansen remaining unbeaten on 21 runs off 14 deliveries after Tristan Stubbs (29) and Heinrich Klaasen (22) played important cameo knocks. West Indies veteran Roston Chase was the pick of the bowlers as he returned figures of 3/12.

Put into bat, Chase notched up 52 runs off 42 deliveries while Kyle Mayers scored 35 runs to take the West Indies to 135/8. Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa as he returned figures of 3/27.
