Team India vice-captain Hardik Pandya joined the practice session for the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York after enjoying a short break following the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Pandya took to X to share pictures of his light training session along with Shubman Gill, Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav, and Axar Patel amongst others. The first training session for Team India was supervised by mental strength & conditioning coach Soham Desai.
The all-rounder captioned the picture as, “On national duty”.

“Very exciting to be here in New York. Has a good vibe. Bright sun out,” Pandya said after the first training session.
“No PR, Nothing!!
“Just reached USA silently and joined India”s practice session silently,” another fan pointed out.
“Hardik, you have to win the World Cup. And answer your critics…,” a third fan said.
The all-rounder was heavily criticised by the fans after taking over the Mumbai Indians captaincy from Team India captain Rohit Sharma. He had a under-par season in the IPL 2024, scoring 216 runs at an average of 18, while scalping 11 wickets for Mumbai Indians.
