Team India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final to lift the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy in Barbados. The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) rewarded the national team with INR 125 crore following the triumph.
As per a report in the Indian Express, the prize money will be divided among the 15-member Team India squad, reserve players, coaching and backroom staff, and the selectors.

Each player of the 15-member Team India squad fetched INR 5 crore each, and the coaching staff led by Rahul Dravid, including batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey received INR 2.5 crore each, the backroom staff containing the three physiotherapists, as many throwdown specialists, two masseurs and the strength and conditioning coach earned INR 2 crore each while the reserve players bagged INR 1 crore.
“Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice,” a BCCI source said told the newspaper.

The overall prize money for Team India’s triumph in the ICC trophies has improved significantly over the years. In 2013, each player from the national squad bagged a prize money of INR 1 crore each while the support staff earned INR 30 lakh each. The members of the 2011 World Cup winning squad earned INR 2 crore each while the support staffs fetched INR 50 lakh. Meanwhile, the 2007 T20 World Cup winning squad earned a total amount of INR 12 crore.
