"Humanity Must Prevail": Liverpool's Mohammed Salah On Israel-Palestine War

Mohammed Salah, the forward player of Liverpool came forward calling the need to call quit to the “brutality and violence” in Israel and Palestine. The football star, who always steered clear of any political remarks or siding could not stand back this time as the escalation in the recent weeks has been “Too much violence and too much heartbreak” which was ”unbearable to witness”.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly twitter), Mr. Salah called for the “massacres” to be stopped as “all lives are sacred”. In the video, Mr. Salah said, it is not always easy to speak in times  like this”. He said the humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed immediately as the Gaza people need food, water and, medical supplies urgently. He said the scenes after the bombing in the Al Ahli hospital of Gaza was “horrifying”.

 

The “Egyptian King” called the leaders to “come together to prevent the further slaughter of the innocent souls”. The Egypt National Team’s Captain was criticised earlier for not speaking up for Palestine.

Mr. Salah is the last footballer to comment on the Israel- Palestine war so far. Several other players remarked their stance on the escalation and some even got sacked from the club for voicing out their support to Gaza. Egyptian Red Cresent has confirmed and thanked Mr. Salah for donating money to the aid for Gaza.

Earlier, French football club, OGC Nice has suspended Yousef Atal for allegedly sharing an antisemitic comment adhering to the Israel-Palestine war. Mainz has suspended Anwar El Ghazi for his comment pronouncing his support for Palestine.

On Wednesday, 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid reached the Rafah border, the only border to Gaza, but it is nit clear when the aid will be able to get inside the devastated land of Gaza. Israel has already bombed the border four times since the escalation started on October 7.

So far over 3000 Palestinians was killed by the Israeli Air strikes and and around 1400 from the side of Israel has lost their life in the war.
