The Barmy Army are the biggest support group for the England cricket team. Wherever the England team plays, they follow their national side in large numbers and cheer for them.
In the ongoing tour of India, England won the first Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs while they lost the Vishakhapatnam and Rajkot Tests by 106 and 434 runs respectively. Currently, in the Ranchi Test, India have an edge to clinch the match and take an unassailable lead in the five-Test series.
Incidentally, even with the odds stacked against England in the Ranchi Test, the Barmy Army showed belief in their side and said, “You’re not allowed to the ground tomorrow England fans if you don’t believe” and “No team has ever chased a score down to win a Test match at Ranchi”.
