IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya-Rohit Sharma Feature On Kolkata Police’s QR Code Scam Meme

Written by Timeline Sports Desk

Mumbai Indians’ newly appointed captain Hardik Pandya and former skipper Rohit Sharma have been the talk of the town in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The duo have now featured on Kolkata Police’s QR code scam meme.

The meme, in Bengali, was designed by the Kolkata Police to curb the QR Code Scam in the state. The post in english translates to: “When you scan the QR code after listening to a fraud, Rohit is the bank account and Hardik is the deceived.”

Pandya and Sharma had a long chat after Mumbai Indians’ inaugural fixture against Gujarat Titans. Former India opener Robin Uthappa, a part of the official broadcasters’ expert panel, had pointed out on the incident.

“I actually quite like this. It’s quite heartening to see the two of these guys having this conversation. I am sure the Mumbai Indians fans who want them to succeed will be enjoying this conversation. I am sure Rohit here, from what we see, is passing on information with Hardik and Hardik is listening like someone who wants to understand things. This is good news, this looks good to me. This will hold Mumbai Indians in good stead as the team moves forward,” Uthappa said on JioCinema.

Social media has been abuzz ever since Pandya was traded from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians and handed over the captaincy role. The newly appointed captain has drawn a lot of flak from Rohit Sharma fans and was booed by the Gujarat Titans fans in Ahmedabad during his team’s IPL opener.

Mumbai Indians became one of the most successful franchises under the captaincy of Sharma. He led the franchise to five IPL triumphs. However, under Pandya, the Mumbai franchise have made a poor start as they lost their first-two matches in the IPL 2024.
