IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant Records Joint-Most Dismissals By Delhi Capitals Wicket-Keeper

Written by Timeline Sports Desk

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant displayed his masterful skills behind the stumps to record the joint-most dismissals by a wicket-keeper of his franchise in an Indian Premier League (IPL) innings.

Pant secured four dismissals for Delhi Capitals in the match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Earlier, former Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik had recorded the same number of dismissals against Rajasthan Royals in Bloemfontein during the 2009 season.

Pant was involved in the dismissal of David Miller as he was caught behind off a delivery from Ishant Sharma. He also displayed his brilliant glovework to stump Abhinav Manohar and Shah Rukh Khan besides securing a catch of Rashid Khan to complete his fourth dismissal.

His valiant effort was well acknowledged by fans on social media. “Rishabh Pant masterclass behind the Stumps,” a fan pointed out.

“A superb catch from Rishabh Pant. Delhi Capitals are dominating GT!,” he said in another tweet.

Thanks to the brilliant all-round performance from Delhi Capitals, the hosts were restricted to their lowest total of 89 runs with Mukesh Kumar scalping three wickets.

The Pant-led side will be desperate for the win and looking to make the most of their opportunity as they are currently placed at the ninth spot in the 10-team tournament. They won their last match by six wickets against Lucknow Super Giants.
