Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken stern action against the fan who was recently involved in an altercation with senior team member Haris Rauf.
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi condemned the incident and asked the fans involved in the incident to apologize to the senior Pakistan fast bowler for the incident which took place when he was with his wife following the T20 World Cup 2024. His statement further mentioned that if the fans do not apologise in due course; then legal action will be taken against them.
“Strongly condemn the appalling incident involving Haris Rauf. Such actions against our players are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Those who are involved must immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, failing which we will pursue legal action against the individual responsible.” Naqvi said in a statement on social media.
Meanwhile, Rauf said that it is important to show respect for the families of an individuals, regardless of their profession.
“As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public,” Rauf wrote on X. “They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” Rauf said after the video went viral on social media.
Pakistan’s campaign did not go well but they produced a positive result in their final T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The Babar Azam-led side clinched a three-wicket victory over the US in Florida on Sunday.
