Team India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin came down hard at Pakistan journalist Wajahat Kazmi for his comments on Afghanistan. The Pakistan journalist’s comments came after Afghanistan registered a 21-run victory over Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024, Super 8 Group 1 match on Saturday.
Wajahat Kazmi, the journalist in question, took to X and said “Afghanistan can beat any team in the world except India for obvious reasons. IPL contracts are very precious”.
To which, Ashwin responded by saying, “I can’t tell u what to do @elonmusk but I should certainly have the right to decide who enters my house. My timeline my decision🙏”.

Later, someone suggested Ashwin to block such people. To which, he responded by saying: “It’s shouldn’t be my duty to block a set of handles every day. I know who I want to follow.”
Afghanistan has beaten New Zealand in the Group Stage and Australia in the Super 8 Group 1. They are currently placed at the third spot in the Super 8 Group 1 with two points from as many matches. They will next take on Bangladesh in their final Super 8 clash on Tuesday.
In case, India beats Australia and Afghanistan defeats Bangladesh in their final clash respectively, then the Rashid Khan-led side has a chance of qualifying into the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals.
