Ramita Jindal Finishes 7th In Women’s 10m Air Rifle Final

India’s shooting star Ramita Jindal lost the chance to add another medal to the medal tally of India. The talented young marksman has displayed exceptional potential at the Paris Olympics 2024. However, the young shooter finished seventh in the women’s 10m air rifle finals on Monday.

She cleared the first hurdle by pipping Norway’s Jeanette Hegg, who was eliminated and finished eighth. Earlier, Ramita had scored a total of 52.5 after the first five shots to be placed fourth.

On Sunday, Ramita qualified for the women’s 10m air rifle event finals. She finished fifth during the qualification round, while her counterpart Arjun Babuta came seventh in the men’s event. The top eight from both men and women’s category in the qualification rounds, have been selected for the final round.

She had secured a score of 631.5, while shooter Elavenil Valarivan had a defeat in the mixed team event. The 25-year-old Arjun from Chandigarh shot a series of 105.7, 104.9, 105.5, 105.4, 104.0 and 104.6, achieving a total score of 630.1 points, meeting the cutoff for the final round.

Manu Bhaker kicked off India’s medal tally at the Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker became the only Indian to reach the final of her event on Saturday. The 22-year-old has bagged bronze medal in women’s 10m air pistol on Sunday.
