Ranji Trophy Final: Rohit Sharma Joins Mumbai Players In The Dressing Room

Team India captain Rohit Sharma was in attendance during the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 Final between Mumbai and Vidarbha. As per a report in the Indian Express, he spent nearly 20 minutes with the Mumbai team players and gave them a pep talk in the dressing room.

In a video shared by BCCI domestic, Sharma can be seen spending time with veteran fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni in the dressing room. He is currently on a break after leading India to a 4-1 victory in the recently concluded Test series against England. The Team India captain is due to join the Mumbai Indians camp for the upcoming season in the next few days.

“He (Rohit) came and met players during the Ranji Trophy finals and spent 20 minutes with them. The MCA had taken permission from the anti-corruption officer and he was allowed to meet the Mumbai players,” MCA honorary secretary Ajinkya Naik told The Indian Express.

In the ongoing final, there has been a large presence of many former cricketers and administrators over the last few days. India legend Sachin Tendulkar was also present at the Wankhede Stadium while stalwarts like Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar had also visited the venue.

Mumbai, the most successful team in Ranji Trophy history, are chasing their 42nd title. They have been on a trophy drought since the 2015-16 season. In the last few years, Mumbai have made it to the final twice but lost on both occasions. However, this season, Mumbai have put a strong performance to set a target of 538 runs to chase for Vidarbha.
