Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh were blessed with a baby boy on Friday. The couple were already parents to daughter Samaira, who will turn six on December 30. Though there is no confirmation regarding the exact time of birth, the star couple is likely to make the announcement soon.
As per the TOI report, the birth took place at a local hospital. Rohit is currently not in Australia with the Indian cricket team as he was waiting for the birth of their second baby.

As the Indian Test and ODI captain has not joined the team to Perth for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia, it is under speculation whether he would be able to lead in the initial Tests.
The first Test of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia will start in Perth on November 22. Thus, the short timeframe leaves limited opportunity for practice before the match. However, team coach Gautam Gambir had previously expressed hope for Sharma’s availability, despite uncertainty surrounding his participation.
India’s top order has been at stake in the previous matches and thus it highlight’s the team need for Rohit’s leadership and experience.
Though Rohit himself was in his peak form, his presence is still considered to be crucial, especially given recent concerns over other players.
During the pre-departure press conference, Gautam Gambir had said that there is no official confirmation regarding Rohit’s absence.
“At the moment there’s no confirmation. Hopefully he will be available. We’ll let you know,” Gambhir told the press.
He further stated that if Rohit misses the first match, then vice-captain and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be donning the captain’s hat.

Moreover, his absence will also open a gate for the new opener in the team. While speaking of the role Gambhir said that the team has got Abhimanyu and KL Rahul who will take up his position.
