Rohit Sharma Imitates Novak Djokovic; Eats Grass From Barbados Pitch After T20 WC Triumph

Former India captain Rohit Sharma imitated 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic’s antics after the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.

Emotions were running high as soon as Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya defended 16 runs from the final over against South Africa to take the side over the line. “Very hard to sum up what we have been through for the last 3-4 years. To be honest, we worked very hard as individuals and as a team a team, lot has gone on behind the scenes for us to be here today and win this game. It is not what we did today, it is what we have been doing for the last 3-4 years,” Rohit Sharma said after the historic win.

Opting to bat, former India captain Virat Kohli played a cautious knock of 76 runs while he was well supported by Axar Patel’s 47, propelling the side to a record total of 176/7. In the chase, South Africa were restricted to 169/8 with Heinrich Klaasen top-scoring for his side with 52 runs.

This was India’s first ICC title since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013 and the second T20 World Cup title after their triumph in the inaugural edition in 2007.
