Sarabjot Singh Reveals He Tried Imitating Viral Turkish Shooter

Indian shooter Sarabjot Singh who had clinched bronze medal in the mixed 10m air pistol at the Paris Olympics 2024 along with Manu Bhaker has revealed his admiration for the viral Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec.

He while speaking during an interview with PUMA Indi said that Yusuf was his role model. “I have been watching his videos since 2011. He has always been like this. He is 51 today. Even though I have tried, I could not match his perfection. If I had a chance, I would ask him what he eats,” he said.

Yusuf Dikec won a silver medal in the Mixed 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The 51-year-old’s shooting style had gone viral on social media. His casual approach without wearing any specialized lenses astonished many.
In the interview, Sarabjot also revealed that for the mixed team event, the duo didn’t get much time to train together.

“My training was due at 9, hers was due at 12, individually. Mixed session lasted for 30 minutes, before which she trained separately, and I separately. Our conversation was usually brief and limited to ‘Apna 100 per cent dena hai (we have to give our 100 per cent)’. Apart from that, we enjoyed some banter. Sometimes I would make fun of her, sometimes she would of me,” he added.

Sarabjot was offered a job by the Haryana government following his Olympic heroics. However, the youngster rejected the offer and said that he would like to focus on his career. Apart from Sarabjot, Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale were the other two medallists from shooting for India in Paris.

India also got another bronze in shooting through Swapnil Kusale. Meanwhile, Aman Sehrawat bagged a bronze in wrestling. In total, India won six medals at the Paris Olympics.
