The Hollywood icon handed off the Olympic flag to Los Angeles with his spectacular skydive entry that has left everyone in awe once again.

Hollywood icon Tom Cruise made a dramatic appearance at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 on Sunday. Taking the audience in awe, the actor abseiled off the Stade De France roof carrying the Olympic flag.

The spectacular entry of Cruise was the highlight of the entire night. The actor as his mission, helped the Olympic committee transfer the flag from Paris to Los Angeles, where the next edition of the games will be held. The Mission Impossible star took the transfer in his own style, taking the Olympic flag on his bike live in front of the audience and taking it to the airport, where the flight took the flag to LA.

The iconic entry of the actor was a huge surprise to the crowd. Cruise grinned as he was mobbed by a surging crowd of athletes the moment he landed in the stadium – having rappelled about 50m (164ft).

To mark the handover to Los Angeles, which will host the 2028 Olympics, Cruise was seen in a pre-recorded film travelling from Paris to the US.  Cruise’s promo got a standing ovation from the crowd at Stade de France, where he was seen painting the Hollywood logo in the colour of the Olympic rings in the film.

The fortnight was made even more special with a stunning light show and an exceptional music performance from rock bands and classical musicians from all around the world. The Stade de France resembled a concert hall hosting a party to celebrate the sporting excellence as a breathtaking closing ceremony kicked off with athletes marching into the iconic Stade de France to thunderous applause.

The three-hour-long show began with a musical performance by French singer Zaho de Sagazan sang the famous Sous le Ciel de Paris. Meanwhile, coming from the iconic Louvre museum, a torchbearer seizes the lantern that contains the Olympic Flame and sets off to the Stade de France. The closing ceremony celebrated the power of diversity and solidarity: just like the Olympic Games, which is considered the greatest intangible work of humankind for peace, and togetherness and that human beings are capable of the best.
Cruise has long been a fan and supporter of the Olympic Games, and in 2004, carried the Olympic torch in Dodger Stadium as part of the L.A. portion of the Olympic Torch Relay.
Followed by this, the flag ends up at the LA Beach, changed from several hands. The USA welcomed the flag with an energetic performance from Billy Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Jay Z.

The ceremony ended with fireworks at Stade de France with the announcer stressing, how the players and the fans made friendships to last a lifetime in Paris.
