Legendary actor Tom Cruise gears up to bid farewell to his iconic character Ethan Hunt with the release of the final chapter, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. But is it the end of his illustrious career? The answer is an absolute NO. While closing the decades-long chapters of the MI franchise, the actor is planning to bring something exciting for his fans in the future.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning has been gaining worldwide attention. While the star is extensively promoting his films across countries, one constant question follows him everywhere: Is it the end of the franchise? Tom Cruise clarified: it is not called final for nothing.

Now, fans are curious about the actor’s ambition to make films until his 80s. Back then, Cruise expressed his wish to follow Harrison Ford’s footsteps and to work till his 80s.

The end of the franchise and anticipation over his upcoming projects have ignited curiosity about the star’s current thoughts on the decision. At the New York premiere, the actor was asked whether he had changed his mind, as the eighth film marks an end to the popular film franchise.

He said stated that he isn’t just sticking around but planning to work till his 100s. While expressing his confidence and determination, Cruise also said, “I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, and I will never stop doing drama and comedy films —I’m excited.”

Previously, during the London premiere, the actor had revealed his plans, saying that he thinks about other stories and franchises like Top Gun. The actor finished shooting a yet-to-be-titled film with Iñárritu and teased future collaborations with other filmmakers.

Mission Impossible—The Final Reckoning

The final chapter of the MI franchise was released in India on May 17 in multiple languages like English, Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. Just two days after the release, the film outperformed various international and domestic releases by earning an impressive Rs 33 crore at the box office.

With this, the film has broken the records of films like Captain America: Brave New World (Rs 4.2 crore) and Thunderbolts* (Rs 3.8 crore), as well as Hindi titles like Kesari 2 (Rs 7.5 crore) and Jaat (Rs 9.5 crore) in the Indian box office.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film was initially slated for a May 23 release worldwide.  Alongside Cruise, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Angela Bassett, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, and Greg Tarzan Davis.
