Presumably, the last sequel of Tom Cruise’s MI franchise, Mission Impossible—The Final Reckoning, will arrive at the Indian silver screen tomorrow, May 17. Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt will amaze the audience with his iconic stunts and dramatic action sequences. But with the release of the film comes another question: is Mission Impossible—The Final Reckoning really the end of the franchise?
Introduced in 1996, the journey of the Mission Impossible franchise was a visual treat for hardcore fans. With each sequel, the missions of Ethan Hunt impressed the audience and have created their own fanbase over the years. After the two-decade-long journey, fans couldn’t accept that they had to bid farewell to their spy agent Ethan Hunt and team.

While fans prepare themselves to offer a heartwarming goodbye to the legendary character, Cruise made the audience question whether it’s really the end of the franchise.
In an interview with ET at the London premiere, Cruise was asked whether Final Reckoning would bring an end to the franchise. The actor, with his iconic smile, responded, “Well, they don’t call it final for nothing.”
It’s Never a Goodbye
It’s been seven years since Cruise began working on the sequel, since it started filming back-to-back with Mission Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One. During a red carpet bite at the London premiere of the film, Cruise said that he had experienced a tremendous amount of enjoyment making the franchise. “For me, it’s never goodbye. It’s like we will see you again,” he added.
In another instance, Cruise also said that he had a lot of fun doing it and that he wanted the audience to enjoy it. He said, “Enjoy this and know everything is the culmination that has come to this moment right now.”
Not the end of Tom Cruise films
Cruise also stated that he thinks about the other stories and franchises like Top Gun. The actor has finished shooting a yet-to-be-titled film with Iñárritu and teased future collaborations with other filmmakers.

Mission Impossible—The Final Reckoning
The eighth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise will hit the Indian theaters tomorrow, May 17, six days before its scheduled global debut.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film was initially slated for a May 23 release worldwide. However, responding to high anticipation and a surge in fan demand, the studio made the strategic move to advance the Indian release date. The film will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Alongside Cruise, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Angela Bassett, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, and Greg Tarzan Davis.
