India’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has made a remarkable jump in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for bowlers, securing the number one position.
Mr Siraj, who was in the ninth position earlier jumped to No. 1 as per the latest rankings, after catastrophically knocking down the Sri Lankan wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 final.
The rankings were updated by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday, September 20.
Mohammed Siraj had 637 points before the Asia Cup final and has now sealed the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings after taking his tally to 694 points. He has 16 more points than Josh Hazlewood, who was dethroned from the top spot and now is at 2nd spot in the bowling charts, says reports.

The match was held in R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, where Siraj picked up 6 wickets in just 7 overs finishing with figures of 6 for 21 in the final.
What the Indian team thrashed, with its extraordinary right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, was the Sri Lankan desire to preserve their hard-hit upshot of 2022 Asia Cup. Sri Lanka was defeated by 10 wickets while the Indian openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan wrapped up the final contest in just 6.1 overs.
The speedster Siraj advanced to the crown of the first Indian bowler to pick four wickets in a single over and is now cram-full with admirations and appreciations.
It is the second time Siraj is ranked No. 1 in ODI rankings as he held the spot in January 2023 after a fine show against Sri Lanka at home.
