Sunday, a thunderbolt day for India and all the cricket fanatics, where the “Men In Blue” rose to be the title-holders of Asia Cup as Mohammed Siraj demolished Sri Lanka by thrashing the wicket door one after another, an action-packed episode to the gallery bearers.

It was a day of rain, but then of runs and ultimately of new records. The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup rewritten the history as the Indian team lifted the title after a dramatic-thrilling chapter, for the record-extending eighth time.

What the Indian team thrashed, with its extraordinary right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, was the Sri Lankan desire to preserve their hard-hit upshot of 2022 Asia Cup. Sri Lanka was defeated by 10 wickets while the Indian openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan wrapped up the final contest in just 6.1 overs.

The speedster Siraj advanced to the crown of the first Indian bowler to pick four wickets in a single over and is now cram-full with admirations and appreciations. And among those, two quirky notes are now viral on social media.

Bollywood star actress and the bigwig batter Virat Kohli”s wife Anushka Sharma took her instagram story on Sunday to share a picture of Siraj from the ground and captioned “Kya baat hai Miyan Magic”.

In the image, Siraj is seen celebrating a wicket he took from the rival Sri Lanka.

Apart from Anushka, the Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor also leave a note of appreciation to Siraj with a photo of herself on Instagram.

“Ab Siraj se hi pucho ke iss free time ke saath kya karein? (Now ask Siraj that what should we do in this free time)”, she added in caption to her photo in a white t-shirt and cap of the same colour.

On Sunday, Rohit Sharma”s Team India bowled out Sri Lanka to its second-lowest total in the history of ODI (One Day International) cricket. And it was India”s biggest ODI win in terms of balls left.

With 263 balls remaining, India outclassed Sri Lanka in 6.1 overs. India”s previous best arrived when the Men In Blue thrashed Kenya (231 balls remaining) in Bloemfontein 2001, reported the Hindustan Times.

After the final match, Siraj dedicated the “Player of the Final” cash prize to the ground staff of R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, for their hard work to ensure the final game as also some games earlier went ahead after interruptions caused by rain.
