Elon Musk To Pay Legal Costs Of Disney Employees ‘Discriminated Against’ By DEI Policies
Tech leader Elon Musk on Tuesday pledged to provide legal support for Disney employees “discriminated against” by the studio’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Elon Musk has also shared a graphic on his X handle detailing Disney’s internal inclusion standards.

“If you were discriminated against by Disney or its subsidiaries (ABC, ESPN, Marvel, etc), just reply to this post to receive legal support,” wrote Elon Musk on his X handle on February 7. He wrote this post minutes after sharing the graphic. Elon Musk also called those standards “mandatory, institutionalized racism, and sexism.” The billionaire added that he received the graphic from an “anonymous source.”

However, Kim Masters, editor-at-large of The Hollywood Reporter, pointed out that the same graphic shared by Elon Musk has been in public circulation since appearing in The Hollywood Reporter in 2020. “I guess the secret source read the Hollywood Reporter in 2020, when we published this,” wrote Kim Masters on her X handle.
Notably, under Elon Musk”s post, an X user suggested that Musk should “buy Disney and fix it.” The billionaire responded to this comment with a thinking emoji. It is worth mentioning that, in November 2023, Disney decided to suspend its advertising on X.
Earlier, actress Gina Carano sued Walt Disney for wrongful termination from the Star Wars series “The Mandalorian.” The lawsuit, filed in federal court in California, is backed by Elon Musk. Gina Carano alleged that she was wrongfully terminated over controversial posts made on X, formerly Twitter. X has announced that they will provide financial support for Gina Carano’s lawsuit.
In August 2023, Elon Musk announced that he would fund the legal bills of users treated unfairly by employers for posts on the platform. He also stated that there will be no limits to funding the bills.
