The platform had in 2023 rolled out an initial iteration of video and audio calling for premium users and has been encouraging the team to evolve into a more efficient app, terming it an early version of video and audio calling on X.
He also noted that the users can access the services even without the use of phone numbers. “We”re launching a new means of communication on X, Audio and Video Calling. Audio and Video calling is now available on iOS and will soon be available on Android,” the platform announced in a post last year.
However, the new addition marks another fundamental alteration among many others that Mr. Musk made since he owned the platform. After his acquisition, he renamed the erstwhile Twitter into X and began exploring more additions to the social media platform.
As per sources, Elon Musk is committed to the transformation of the platform into an “everything app,” with a variety of services including social networking, messaging and payments.
