Chinese phone brand Xiaomi has surmounted Samsung taking the crown back in the Indian market. This labels a major upturn regaining its position in the highly competitive smartphone sphere. The company has reportedly faced a significant decline in terms of profits in FY2023 but managed to increase its sales in the early quarter of this year. Contrarily, Samsung slipped down to third place as Vivo managed to be positioned at the second as per the June quarter data.

A Canalys (delivers smart market insights to mobility) report was released that four out of the smartphones in the top list are from Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Vivo, realme, OPPO and Samsung the one from Korea. As per the data it was reported around 24 per cent growth annually increasing Xiaomi‘s market share to 18 per cent in the June quarter as it was at 15 in the previous year, whereas Vivo witnessed a 4 per cent rise sans changing its volume share.

Xiaomi improved the quality of its affordable phone and has released the series for the quarter already. The high-end Xiaomi phones also carry huge demand in the Indian market. On the other hand, Xiaomi is undergoing a government probe for paying royalties to Chinese parent companies for third-party intervention, despite the ongoing investigation the company managed to keep pace and be at the top position in the Indian smartphone market.
