"Dream Of Desert": Saudi Arabia Unveils First Ever Five-Star Train (images @@saudiexpat)
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has unveiled “Dream of the Desert” luxury train. The final design for this ambitious luxury travel was revealed during the visit of Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. The train is developed on partnership with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), and Arsenale, Italian hospitality giant, and promises a new ear of luxury travel, laced with the Kingdom’s cultural heritage and beauty.
The Dream of Desert will deliver a posh travel experience, and will feature 14 carriages with 34 luxurious suites. This never-before five-star hotel on steel wheels aims at blending world-class hospitality with sumptuous cultural experiences.
As per Saudi Press Agency (SPA), SAR and Arsenale’s partnership has reached an agreement in January 2024, which was valued 200 million Saudi riyals. The pairing up is part of Riyadh’s ambitious Vision 2030, which has lead to hefty investments in infrastructure, tourism, and hospitality.

The earthy-toned interiors of the train are inspired by Saudi Arabia’s iconic landscapes, and traditional architecture. The intricate artistic details of the interiors presents an unparalleled swanky experiences dipped in the Kingdom’s history and culture. The train features lounges that resembles traditional Arabian majlises, decorated with hand-carved woodworks.
The train will also offer the most sophisticated culinary artistry. It offers a menu designed by top chefs from Saudi Arabia and abroad alike. It will also showcase art pieces and photography, which will speak of the Kingdom’s cultural and natural landmark.
