Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the state’s previous YSR Congress (YSRCP) government of using animal fat and substandard ingredients in making the Tirupati laddoo, compromising Tirumala’s sanctity during their five-year tenure. The laddoo’s are served as ‘prasad’ at the famous Sri Venkateswara temple.
Naidu claimed that animal fat was used in Tirupati Laddoos, replacing ghee, causing widespread concern.
Speaking at the NDA legislature party meeting in Amravati, Naidu asserted that his government now uses pure ghee to protect Tirumala’s sanctity.
Responding to the allegations raised by the Andhra CM, YSR Congress leader YV Subba Reddy denied them and called Naidu’s comments malicious. Reddy accused Naidu of damaging Tirumala’s sanctity and eroding the faith of Hindu devotees.
He also insisted that no individual would make such accusations about the sacred Tirumala prasad.
