N Chandrababu Naidu Takes Oath As Andhra Chief Minister

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth term on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, Union ministers JP Nadda and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Andhra governor S Abdul Nazeer, and former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundarajan and several other dignitaries were present in the ceremony.

After he took oath, PM Modi congratulated with him a hug.

Naidu was sworn in around 11.27 AM near Gannavaram Airport in Kesarapalli on the outskirts of Vijayawada. Along with him, JanaSena supremo Pawan Kalyan, the TDP chief’s son Nara Lokesh and 22 others also took the oath. Pawan Kalyan sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the State.

In the recently concluded Andhra Pradesh assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls, the NDA alliance including TDP, Jana Sena and BJP has got a landslide victory. In the assembly polls, the NDA won 164 seats in the 175-member Assembly; wherein TDP garnered 135 seats, the JanaSena received 21, and eight seats were won by the BJP. Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha election, the alliance won 21 of the state’s 25 seats.

Aside from the noted politicians, South superstars Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna were attended the ceremony.

Naidu became Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for the first time in 1995.
