At least 17 people have been killed in rain-related incidents in Andhra Pradesh as the state faces severe floods. Lakhs of people have been displaced as a result, with thousands of acres of agricultural lands and crops submerged in water.
Amid the chaos and loss, the state government and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have utilised drone technology for quick and efficient delivery in flood-affected regions in the Ajith Singh Nagar area of Vijayawada.

Through the use of drones, food packets, water bottles, and other important, necessary items are being supplied to people stuck in such areas. State minister Nara Lokesh stated that for the first time, the Andhra government has deployed drones to deliver relief materials and food to flood-affected people.
“This has made relief operations more efficient and quick,” he stated on an X post while sharing the video.

As per Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, roughly eight to nine drones were used to deliver food packets to over 10,000 people on Monday. He further assured that nearly 35 drones will be deployed on Tuesday.
The state government has set up 78 resettlement camps in Vijayawada city for the homeless. Measures have been taken to restore the washed away roads in around 17 places across Krishna district, as per officials.
